ANANDA BALAGA is a social organisation with an optimistic outlook for the future. Balaga has managed itself well since its inception twenty years ago, in achieving some of its broad objects. But the fact remains that many more goals are to be achieved and accomplished. Balaga is fortunate to have efficient and sincere team of Executive Committee consisting of people from various walks of life and dedicated for social service.

Balaga’s various sub committees have been active and nearly ten programs were being arranged on an average every year. The membership aspirants are increasing and presently, Balaga has more than 1500 members which means that over 5000 persons are availing the benefit of various programs.

In the year 2005, M/S Arya Jana Seva Trust founded and represented by Dr. P. J. Bagilthaya, donated prime piece of land abutting State highway, measuring about 30,000 sft. at Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore, valued about Rs. 3.00 crores, for the purpose of constructing a auditorium for the Balaga. The land was conveyed to a spv. ‘Ananda Balaga Charitable Trust’ in which most of the trustees were co-opted from Ananda Balaga. This gave us the phillip to embark upon immediate action to construct a spacious auditorium at the site.

The construction of the auditorium consisting of basement, stilt floor, mezannine floor and ground floor all measuring about 33,500 sft. is structurally completed and expected to take another six to eight months to finish in all respects. A sum of Rs. 120.00 lakhs have been spent so far out of the total estimated budget of Rs. 200.00 Lakhs. Liberal contributions are being received from the members for which the Executive committee is thankful.

With the construction of the auditorium, the long cherished desire to own an auditorium for furtherance of the activities of Balaga would be met while the much needed office would also be placed in the complex.

To accomplish this onerous task, more contributions are required and it is the earnest appeal of the Executive Committee to all those members who are yet to contribute to hasten their contributions and also obtain substantial donations from relatives and friends.
